The Mount Sinai Medical Center
The clinic was founded in 1852. It has an educational center of its own, scientific research laboratory and a hospital allowing for 1171 in-patients with approximate number of 1800 attending doctors and about 300 specialized departments. The first liver transplant in the State of New York was carried out here as well as the first method of electrophoretic separation of proteins in polyacrylamide gel was developed and put to use here.
